Southeastern Spartanburg County in Upstate South Carolina...
South central Cherokee County in Upstate South Carolina...
Northern Union County in Upstate South Carolina...
* At 316 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 11 miles south of
Spartanburg, or 6 miles south of Croft State Park, moving east at
35 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind
damage to trees and power lines.
* Locations impacted include...
Union, Pacolet, Monarch Mill, Buffalo, Jonesville, Pacolet Mills,
Moore, Croft State Park, Saratt and Pauline.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Tornado Watch remains in effect for the warned area. Tornadoes can
develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Although a tornado is not
immediately likely, if one is spotted, act quickly and move to a
place of safety inside a sturdy structure such as a basement or small
interior room.
Large hail can cause major property damage, especially to vehicles.
Strong winds may blow down a few trees and power lines. Seek shelter
inside an interior room.
