SPARTANBURG, SC: National Weather Service issued an extension to the current Tornado Warning for the area until 8:45 PM


AREAS AFFECTED : CHEROKEE; SPARTANBURG; UNION; YORK

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a 
 
* Tornado Warning for... 
West central York County in Upstate South Carolina... 
Southeastern Spartanburg County in Upstate South Carolina... 
Central Cherokee County in Upstate South Carolina... 
Northwestern Union County in Upstate South Carolina... 
 
* Until 845 PM EDT. 
 
* At 759 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado 
was located 7 miles west of Union, or 4 miles northwest of Buffalo, 
moving northeast at 35 mph. 
HAZARD...Tornado. 
SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. 
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 
damage is likely. 
 
* This dangerous storm will be near... 
Buffalo around 800 PM EDT. 
Union and Jonesville around 810 PM EDT. 
Pacolet and Pacolet Mills around 820 PM EDT. 
Blacksburg, Smyrna and Hickory Grove around 840 PM EDT. 
Other locations impacted by this dangerous thunderstorm include 
Cherokee Falls, Draytonville, Saratt and Kings Creek.
